The Neurology and Psychology of Hatred

Empathy is a function of our brain.  Distance, either physical or psychological, makes it more challenging to engage that feature.  We then think of these “Others” as less than us.  I often differentiate between Hate and Anger here.  It turns out science has been evaluating that as well.

“Those damned Christians”

“Those damned Muslims”

“Libtards”

“Right Wing Lunatics”

“Servants of the Jealous Desert God Yahweh”

“…dirty fucking faggot”

Be careful of seeing people as less than you.  They are not.
